Fab news - I was told I'd hear from my 'to be allocated' social worker about 4 weeks ago after prep but am still waiting. Fortunately no one from my prep course has heard either so at least I'm not the only one! I wouldn't be able to sleep tonight either! Let us know how it goes :-)

Excellent news Pirate I gather that the big LA I was going to go with are so behind they're having to use agencies to do the HS and so far, someone I know of is still waiting for SW to be allocated and had prep months ago......am so glad I swerved them, my LA is fab-u-lous, SW allocated before the end of Prep...onward and forward x

Great news Pirate. We got a letter about our SW - about 6 weeks earlier than predicted - within a week of end of course, which is not what we had been told. We apparently are strange people in that we enjoyed th home-study. Took it as reflective time and a chance to confirm who we are truly.

We were told on our prep course that we are the last intake on the old system but when sw rung and spoke to hubby the other day we are now on a quicker system following government unhappy with the slow time adoption takes.
So now I guess we are classed as guinea pigs!
We will see what happens? Pirate Xxxx

Will be interested to hear how it goes Pirate - new system now running in our LA but only for last 3 months or so. We were on old system and of the 6 couples who progressed from our prep course last Nov were the last to approval panel but 4th to meeting their child. Our approval panel was a long time after home-study finished because our SW ended up with three reports all needing writing at once due to other 2 couples delaying matters.

My LA got in touch last week apologising for the delay & said they should allocate me a SW by end of October so a month and a half after they said they would. That is fine for me. It'll be interesting to see where I fit in to the new system as my process started during old system...

Hello
I got an email earlier from my social worker, wants our daughter not to be there next week so we have organised child care (obviously we have to pay for child care) Shame really - told her at least she gets to play with her friends and have lunch together.
In the email received earlier says we have to provide I'd: passports/driving licences/payslips/mortgage statement.
Do you think the social workers will be asking us personal questions?
