LO was up before me this morning My shower wasn't interrupted She was dressed before I had finished in the shower (no shouting, screaming or banging around) She miraculously managed to put her own socks on (hasn't managed this for about 6 months) She's asked for something different for breakfast but then had the same as she always does So far, it's calm. She's excited, jumping around and looking forward to something She's going to a day centre for children with complex needs - as respite Suspect some of it is anxiety but I'm enjoying the peace.

I'm tingling! That must feel amazing Monkey! Perhaps knowing she does not have to face school for the time being is having a positive effect? Well done for creating the environment she could be a clam (for a moment) in! Go LO!!
...so was just going to correct "be a clam" but I think I like it...

and she had a really good day. As one of the more able children she was given some jobs and responsibilities which really boosted her self esteem.

Good for the day centre. May she return there soon, and give you another breather.

Definitely gives a clue about how she feels about school and a good pointer in the direction you made need to go if only temporarily.

DD always copes better when she given jobs to do - boosts her self esteem as someone wants her help and thinks she is good enough to help and get it right. Sounds like a return visit is in order.
