We were approved at panel yesterday to be 2nd time adopters, its just a matter of time now for them to find a child for whom our family is a good match. For Incy's sake we hope the wait will not be too long he is desperate to be a big brother :-)

Congratulations - I wish I could persuade DH to adopt again as Sqk keeps wanting a sibling but at the moment it is a no go area. Hope they find a match for you quickly.

I think many SWs do searches on Link Maker (used to be Adoption Link) on new approvals who then tend to get more enquiries than those waiting much longer. You can of course 'enquire' about any children (make sure you give 'blurb' in the pop up box when you're enquiring re: how you can meet needs, etc. It can be disheartening when an enquiry is rejected within a matter of seconds of being made (as if the SWs have not actually looked at the detail of your profile but they get hundreds of enquiries re: each child, so it's understandable but still tough going). It's an excellent website. Best of luck. Join one of the 'waiting' groups and the Q&A is usually really helpful.  |
