Have always been a bit confused as to why they were legal. Don't know much about it but it sounds like good news!

Legal Hi's well most of the parts of these things are legal...rat poison, pot pourri etc, mix them and package them with lovely names like Damnation, cherry bomb, scarlet rush and so on they become a lethal combination, it ruined my girls, and locally a chap in his mid 20's crashed his car into five others...devastating for a lot of families. No doubt they will turn up again but at least this time people can be prosecuted for having them or supplying them.

I hadn't heard that. I wonder how it would be policed or interpreted in the courts. Hopefully the courts will support it. We've been affected indirectly by two incidents this week (one definite and one possible - which has resulted in a young person we know being in a serious condition in hospital).

As I understand it, it will now be classed as an illegal drug...similar to cannabis etc, the shop in our town wont be able to sell it as openly as they used to, I'm sure they will find a way,the powers given will be court and fines or custody...hope it works.

Thanks, April. I was wondering how they would define it: as I understand it, that can be where the legal problems come in. There seem to be lots of smart lawyers out there who can argue that things don't quite fit definitions.

Well this evening after question time there was a programme on one of the shops...they are known as head shops, this particular one was trying to get rid of stock by increasing the potency of what they were selling and there was a interview with a chemist that produces stuff that gets round laws....shame this programme was not shown a couple of years ago so at least we knew what we were up against.
