At least key stage 1 have had a reprieve and no spelling and grammar paper I SATS this year . Some very happy teachers in our school today ! Perhaps they can do away with it altogether as it was totally inappropriate for this age group.

It's totally inappropriate anyway! Ks2 kids shouldn't have to do it either! The whole thing is mental.

Yes that was a piece of good fortune..or divine intervention! The whole thing is ridiculous...what would happen if parents just opted their child out of taking them..

Thanks for that link Serrakunda
'I am sorry for any concern it has caused teachers, parents or pupils' says Nick Gibb Is anyone concerned or are they too busy celebrating their good fortune
It warmed the cockles of my heart to see a news report of children and parents demonstrating. And then there was that story about the young woman mental health advisor whose services have been dispensed with apparently because she had her own opinions about the pressure children and young people are under.
I know that home ed is never going to be mainstream but if parents could start rising up and taking some power back from government and protest about what successive government have done it would be wonderful.
Well done to whoever leaked that test
