There's a news article about a study that says that "Women are at their least happy at 38.6 years on average; males hit low point at 52.9 years". Having celebrated my 53rd birthday recently, that means that I'm on the way up! Yay!!!!!!! www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-35471624

Corkwing - you and Mr Bop are the same age....I'm also on the way up, but that's more to do with gender!

I remember a few years ago finding out that you were younger than me and I was dismayed. I was sure I was younger than you!!
(I should explain Corkwing and Kermit and DH and I have met......otherwise my comment doesn't make sense!)
And while on the subject of age, DH and I went to see a film this week (Spotlight...very good) and when we got home DH went to throw the ticket out and glancing at it said 'I thought it was cheap' The baby faced assistant had charged us for 2 senior tickets

Well, my avatar does!!
I think sometimes we lose track of how old we actually are and it comes as a nasty shock! That time I realised you were younger than me was such a time!
Another time was when a chap who helps at a club Dash goes to had a birthday and I asked him how old he was (32) I realised I was old enough to be his mother.
Then there was the time I was walking my friend Betty's dog for her. I met another dog walker who recognised the dog and putting two and two together and making 75 (the age she must have thought I was) said 'you're Betty's Mum aren't you? I heard you were visiting.' Betty is 2 years younger than me.
Anyway thanks for the kind words Corkwing.
Must buy some hair dye tomorrow

Bop got a quote from Saga for insurance on a web search and decided it had to be because of me and my age! Nothing to do with her of course.... (she is a few years younger than me ;-) )

Saga! We dined out on a Saga story for a few years (a Saga saga??). When we were young things, only married a couple of years we were visiting family and I picked up a magazine. Saga magazine. I had no idea what Saga was. There was an excellent offer for a holiday on the Isle of Wight. Full board in a hotel. Looked good value so we booked it. When we checked in there was some laughter and our error was explained. It was all booked though so we stayed for the week. The receptionist said she couldn't wait to see the Saga rep's face in the morning. We didn't actually go to the meet and greet thing as it happened, but we did see her during the week and she was glad we were having a good holiday It was quite unnerving eating meals, the dining room was silent. We assumed the couples had been married so long that they had no more to say to each other. Now we are old enough, I might suggest a romantic Saga holiday with DH for old times sake

And almost 30 years in, we have not run out of things to say....mind you I think we are still a lot younger than the people on that holiday!!
