Brilliant news Lankelly. I've lost 2 stone since January using the Exante diet and to be honest it has been sooooo easy to do. Have just got a half stone to go to reach my target weight, although even at this weight I am happy, have more energy, and don't get out of breathe if I have to leg it for a bus like I used to. I am really noticing the difference and even my teenage girls are giving me unprompted compliments saying I look nice. Went shopping with YDD yesterday and was trying on a medium sized dress (size 12-14) and it was too big!!!!!! (I was a size 16 prior to diet ). Had to send DD out of the dressing room to get me a small (size 8 -10 ) and it fitted perfectly! Am not deluded, dress was very stretchy with lycra in it, so lots of gentle give in it, (sizing definately suspect), but the medium was gaping under the arms. Realistically it was probably a 12-14, but it didn't half give me a well needed lift to feel good about myself as it's only taken me 16 years to get rid of the 2 stone baby weight I put on when pregnant with my BC. And to top it all, DD insisted on buying the dress for me (sale prices so not too expensive) as a present for my birthday next weekend. I will wear it with pride and if anyone admires it, will be able to say YDD bought it for me. She too was chuffed I was so happy and looked, dare I say it, quite nice. Sorry to hijack your thread, but if I can do it, anyone can, it really isn't that hard to do once you set your mind to it and losing weight a 1lb or 2 a week is the best way to do it, slowly, as it's more likely to stay off that way.

Gosh dresses? Not many of those in my wardrobe...bit of a tomboy. But have bought some in sale recently as my self care programme. Tweedledee has made a chart with me...it's for her to learn odd and even numbers, two times and three times tables and then it's to show my pounds off. 35 to go. Making myself sit and eat properly like I used to has been a real discipline with the three kicking off. But it's helping me stay calmer.EAT YOUR GREENS! ;-) let you know later how this week goes. Glad to hear I'm not alone here.!

I'm doing the NHS Couch to 5k programme combined with healthier eating. I'm on Week 5 of the plan (had to do Week 1 twice as couldn't manage it!) and have lost 9 pounds. Am looking out for a 5k run to do in September. I do feel a lot better for it, having never run at all before.

Monkey 9lbs that is impressive! I find over the weekend I undo all the good work..I blame the bad influence of Mr M encouraging me to extra toast in the morning
However I am hula hooping every day and eating huge amounts of salad...which I love!

One whole stone.;-) So now when Moptop calls me fat f... I can dance away smiling...well I'll try.! Seriously though this is probably the first time I've put myself first for things like food shopping and meals and it feels like I'm psychologically stronger because of it.,highly recommended.

Well done Lankelly. I've just hit a stone too and feeling proud of myself. I'm quite enjoying my running now and like you it's good to feel I'm doing something for me. I have 2 more runs to go before finishing the programme I started - just in time for our holiday. Never thought 9 weeks ago that I'd be running for 30 mins at a time.

Wow it's great to run monkey, I'm quite jealous. I first got very fit in my thirties by following a similar programme. Unfortunately now I can't run as I get really terrible shin splints that lay me up for days following a run. If you're going somewhere hot it's fab for a run as muscles relax much more. I last went abroad to Spain and hill running was great there. Sounds like I'm an athlete but, ha ha it was twelve years ago. Really enjoy yourself Monkey and the extra light baggage on hols.!

Wow ladies, just catching up with this thread and dead impressed with you all. Well done!
Think amidst life on Planet Adoption we tend to forget about ourselves and our own needs, and sometimes just taking charge of one thing in our own lives and working towards it can give us some feeling of being in control of something when every thing around us seems out of our control IYSWIM. Seeing the weight come off, feeling better/fitter all helps us to feel more in control and the best bit is when other people start to notice and comment. It gives you a buzz and the feeling that you are finally regaining your old self and self esteem that has probably taken a huge bashing over the years as you put everyone else ahead of yourself.
I look forward to hearing about everyone's progress.
Keep it up and remember 'You're worth it!'

Thanks I am feeling so much better and I think coping better too with general life and planet adoption as my diet has gone ridiculously healthy. It was healthy already or so I thought. Nearly lost two stones just one more pound to go. Then the last furlongs before Christmas.! Thanks for all the ecouragement y'all!

It's interesting I can do this among the chaos of life. Been thinking perhaps it's precisely because I can control it, (nobody else can make me exercise or eat more sustaining food) when other stuff seems beyond me. 'Healer, heal thyself...'

Lankelly, you're doing amazingly well. Sadly my efforts have come to a stand still which isn't good. I've had a bad chest or what seems like weeks which has really hampered my running efforts. Good luck in getting to your Christmas goal - have you a reward in mine?
