The mountain of ironing has gone. Steamed into submission by moi.! Don't have to buy more clothes now.

Ironing ..... what's that? Haven't done any for about 6 years and no one has ever noticed.

We don't iron either...
Squirrel at two at a toddler group with a toy iron: mummy what is this? Me: I'm not sure, it doesn't look much fun, shall we play with something fun? Squirrel: build a super high tower? Me: excellent idea

Ha ha Choti, yep steer her away from that nasty iron. I've not ironed for about 10 years. If I make the mistake of buying something which needs ironing after a few minutes, I just don't wear it again, problem solved. Glad you sorted yours though Lankelly. Girl at work has piles and piles to wade through, don't know how (or why??!!) she does it x

I have an iron for weddings and funerals, no board on the sofa works also.
Our iron does get intensive use as my oldest uses it to iron beads.

All ironing is done by Mr M. who sadly has to iron all his own shirts.
I now hang the childrens school uniform up damp.. it works.
But I recognise your exuberance! I feel the same when I have finally hovered and dusted the whole house!

Like Knight, I too look at labels when shopping and if it needs ironing, or dry cleaning then I don't buy, simple.
Most clothing these days is designed for not ironing and if you shake it out when you take it out of the washing machine and hang it to dry most of the wrinkles come out and Tshirt type material generally loses any wrinkles once body heat gets going.
I used to iron duvet covers BC (before children), but don't bother anymore because although they look great when you first dress the bed, after one nights sleeping, they look wrinkled, so why bother?

Well I feel I must quAlify my virtue of the ironing board. But sadly can't particularly apart from to say it helps our meagre wardrobe look slightly less jaded. This never bovvered me before children . That's odd!

Btw. There is a serious sensory issue here. So ironing helps smooth the way for two of three. Not that I'm defensive....

Reading this post, it has just occurred to me that I have 2 irons and an ironing board taking up valuable space, when I too stopped ironing many years ago! The ironing board is always in my way, yet it has never crossed my mind to get rid! I'm feeling quite excited now as to how I may use the space once the ironing board has been flung!
