Can anyone recommend reading for professionals on FASD?
We are pushing for an assessment of our LO, age 7.
SWs are on board and have written in support.
The psychologist at CAMHS who we have been seeing as a family for 2+ years is sceptical. We gave her a copy of the Julia Brown / Dr Mary Mather book which she has read but her opinion is that all the behaviours it describes can also be attributed to trauma and attachment.
Are you a member of the Facebook page FASD UK by any chance? If not I would sign up - Dr Mukherjee is a member of the page and a regular poster. There are a load of video FAQ files with him, and all kinds of recommended reading too xx
Hi KStar, yes I am, thank you. I've looked at the videos etc and the more I read the more I'm convinced but we're not doing a very good job convincing the professional who is currently supporting us and ideally I'd like her backing!
