Hi there,
Our DS is 2.5 and although the paediatrician refuses to acknowledge his ADHD symptoms as he's not yet 3...it's v clear to us that he had all of them with the underlying cause being FASD.
We've noticed that Spud's symptoms are much worse when he's actually slept well- something he doesn't often do. His hand flapping and growling, constant noise making and jumping are non stop following a good nights sleep.
Obv he's better energised so it kinda makes sense.
Just wondered has anyone else seen this in their LO?
Best wishes,
SC x

somechildren may grow out of it or learn how to live with it but in my case ds2 is now 21 and still exhibits hyperactivity ( he also has other problems). you know when he has not taken his meds or when they are wearing off. Luckily ds2 physio and Occupational therapist were instrumental in his diagnosis and he was on meds from when he just turned 4. Not meaning to alarm you but you could be in for a long haul especially due to the FASD .

Thanks guys. I shall bear your autism comment in mind moonshadow...
Don't worry Ham, we've figured we're in for a long haul or in for a penny- in for a pound with DS!!! I'm interested to hear that the physio was helpful in getting a diagnosis DS's physio has been the first professional to ask me questions about his activity levels. I shall say this to the paediatrician next apt. Thanks so much.

Hello TT,
No, no diagnosis at this point, too young, however given the exposure I'd say it's a dead cert that he will at some point be diagnosed with FASD if I do pursue a diagnosis. Thanks for the NOFAS suggestion. Yes, I've had a good look at their site. Today was a a good day... met up with a friend who has a very relaxed open minded personality. Makes such a difference being around folk like that.
Thanks guys,
