DD bought me a coffee in Costa yesterday, and we sat and caught up with a month's worth of each other's news.
It was really good to see her, and just to feel connected. She was pleased to see me, and we'd met because we wanted to, not because 'we had to'.
I had pulled the plug on routine contact, and had to trust that she would get in touch when she wanted to see me. This is a first, and it came much sooner than I had dared hope, so I am truly grateful. Who knows how things will work out going forwards?
She gave me a nice bunch of carnations, which I took home and installed on my kitchen windowsill.
Then I sent her a picture, and had a nice, short, positive text conversation.
For now, I am contented
