I know what you're thinking. "ndf? Good news? It can't be true?!"
I have become a grandmother by eldest bson and his wife. Beautiful baby girl, parents are so happy and settled and ready for being parents. This year has been hell in so many ways and this new little life is like a blazing sun of joy. I cannot put into words how much I love her already, how I love seeing my other children and husband hold her and when I hold her I am so wrapped up in her beauty all the horror of this past year melts away.
Just when I feel I need a Good news board just for me I couldn't find it.
I LOVE BEING A NANNA.

I am such a technophobe-I am clueless on how to do anything. I probably have a "big brother is watching me" feeling that inhibits me from posting photo. Just think cutest baby ever-multiply it by 1000 and you are still not even close.
I am like a Nanna on speed I am so excited!!

Thanks for the congratulations. Sadly baby has been taken in to hospital because she has lost weight. Only 3 days old but not up to her birth weight. She is being breastfed so I wonder if midwives are panicking unduly. My bdaughter took 6 weeks to get back to her birth weight but was healthy. Any prayers would be valued. Her poor mum had a rough labour and hated being in hospital so it would be good for this to be nothing serious.Bdaughter is travelling home tonight to meet her neice so would be nice if she doesn't have to stay in hospital

Try not to worry NDF a lot of newborns do this and are fine once they establish feeding. I'm sure she'll be fine x

Update-baby has lost 17% body weight and may be dehydrated so being kept in tonight-parents shattered. More blood tests tomorrow. daughter might get to see her neice in hospital if parents are up to it.

Congratulations and I hope this stay in hospital is a minor blip in an otherwise so obviously happy event.

Firstly congratulations nanna nancy
Secondly sorry to hear Babba in hospital, these hospitals work wonders now, try not to worry, it's better they get her up to full strength now!
Sending warm hugs and a little body fat to the new baby, I'm happy to donate weight! :-) Stay strong for your daughter and her husband I'm sure you'll make a super duper nana/grandma

baby coming home and query as to whether she has lost 17% body weight-could be down to the scales! Going to visit them at home later with bdaughter who is home for weekend.hoping this drama will not shake mum and dads confidence as they are doing really well as parents.

Lovely news all round :-) a shame the family had to be put through the mill, but in a weird way reassuring that the medical staff were so proactive in terms of getting baby quickly into hospital to be kept safe.
Must be time now for lots of Nanna cuddles and shopping!
