Awwww hope it goes well :-) try to keep your feet firmly on the ground... So hard I know, but I went into intros with totally unrealistic expectations that it was going to be like Christmas at Disneyland or something, that every minute would be magical. It wasn't! Some of it was, but some of it was emotional, draining, confusing and all kinds of other things.
If it does get tough, hang on to every little magical moment to treasure and look forward to the rest of your lives together :-)
(Sorry, not trying to be negative at all, lots of people love intros, I just think sometimes it helps if you're not enjoying them to know you're not the only one)
Xxx

Good luck, hope all goes well.
Lots of adopters in the past have posted about how their LO called them Mummy at first sight, how lovely that first meeting was ...
I love my boys incredibly, we are very well matched and have had over two lovely years together but intros ... another story!
On the first day, one ran upstairs and hid in their bedroom, the other hid behind the front door and wouldn't come out. It was the longest hour of my life as we tried to coax these terrified and confused children into the same room - and I drove home thinking 'What have I done?' (then about 5 miles further down the road started to think, 'so how can I make it better for tomorrow?') Intros got better once the focus shifted to my house as I felt more confident in my own boundaries and rule setting but they were hard work and I was exhausted by the time we got to moving in day.
Whatever happens is just that and nothing more. It is not a prediction of how well you will function as a family or how much they will attach to you; that will come in time as you and your family grow together.
I hope that doesn't sound negative. I simply mean to say, 'Don't put pressure on yourself', just enjoy what you can, be prepared for you and your child to feel very emotional and confused - and get lots of sleep!

Fabbo....... Sad some didn't have great intros.... The downs for me have faded as they were so many years ago.... There were many downs.... ( f/c issues ) The joyous memories are many particularly of baa & skweek staggering down the hall yelling Mummeee maybe I was one of the lucky ones.... Hope you are too....
ENJOY....

Well our little sweetie has been home 6 days. It has been wonderful, emotional, exhausting, wonderful... . Sweetie had a bit of a wooble last night, full on sobbing . It's just heartbreaking, but so necessary we know. Will have to wait to see what tonight will bring.x
