When I first adopted Stig my dad found it difficult to accept him as 'our family'. He was happy to have him around but really struggled to think fo him as a grandson. This week he added Stig to his will, leaving him the same amount as his two other grandchildren - my birth daughter and my brother's birth daughter. Stig has finally wormed his way ito his grandfather's heart :-)

That is great news! Its strange the way people change. My mum was very against us adopting particularly as we were older; but once dd arrived changed completely; seemed to have more understanding of things than I expected; treats her just like the other grand children. On the other hand one or two other family members who were very excited about it, stepped back when they saw her needs and that she was hard work.
