If a match falls through, how much rights do new social workers- on a new potential match have to find out the reasons. Would they want to talk directly with previous social workers? How have people navigated through this? thanks

Do you mean a link or a match after matching panel?
Failed links aren't uncommon, for all sorts of reasons, I don't see why any one other than the SWs directly involved would know

Do you mean would a child's sw or ff ask your sw why a previous link fell through
Or do you mean would a child's sw talk to another child's sw about why they didn't proceed with you?
I don't think unless someone has serious concerns about a persons ability to adopt, which they shouldn't if you have passed panel , it shouldn't be an issue.
I don't think (if it doesn't go as far as matching, anything official goes into your paperwork, I also don't think most sw have time to look at why you weren't right for anbother child, they are concerned with if you are right for their child
I think that it might only happen if you were looking at a child from the same la as the previous child and the sws are on the same team and may ask each other informally.

I mean now this link has fallen through, how much information about the reasons it's fallen through does any future social worker for a new link have the right to know

Oooohhh uhhh none I think....
Not sure but data protection etc I think you can request your s/w doesn't disclose reasons.... Or at the very least if asked you can give your reasons/understanding why it didn't proceed....iykwim... After all who knows what their real reasons were??! S/w massage adopter facts to suit their own agendas.... Always have always will.....
Hugs xx

I can't see why any SW would even know about other links. Remember also that links don't fail because there is something terribly wrong about you, it's just that you weren't the best for that child. I had a failed link with a little boy, family finder and one SW all for it, the other wanted to hold out for a couple. Nothing I can do about being single, and nothing wrong with being single, next link Simba who SWs wanted a single female adopter so no problem.
If you've had a failed link, try to leave it behind, there really is no reason why it should impact on any future links
