Little Minnow has gone with Aunty and cousin to The Games. They left at 5.30am and back 10pm. Big Fish has been at home with carer whilst I rode and gossiped up the yard whilst recovering from last weeks wild camping in Scotland! I am now horizontal on settee. Bliss!

I've not had much time to watch the games but was hoping against hope that my niece's friend, Lynsey Sharp would get to the final of the women's 800m. She scarped in as fastest loser, then proceeded to come out with a Silver for Scotland after admitting that she had been ill in the heats! Having known her since she was a toddler, I was really happy to see her do so well - following in the footsteps of her father who won Bronze in the 1986 Edinburgh games.

It's brill when you see someone do so well Mrmlegal. We know the 18 year old wheelchair athlete Samantha Kinghorn - local lass who was injured in an accident with snow falling from a roof onto her when she was 14. She was such a promising athlete before the accident it is great to see her get on in disability sports. She got into the final but came, I think 5th. The gold medallist gymnast Purvis is the son of a family friend as well. Went to 3 events so really into it here.
