Sooo cool esty!?,.
Don't be fooled... I have had grey ( white by age ) & my huge black beast..... Guess who is the hardest to keep clean
Nope Kez my huge black Belgian boy... Shows every grain of dust.....going to a show was a nightmare ( not made any easier by the fact that we have grey clay mud here!?!? )
Ooohhh sorry that really wasn't meant negatively ..... I actually always found it quite amusing......She looks a cracker.....
Hope she is a good fit.... Fingers crossed for you.... Oh & quite right so you should be very excited have lots of fun... Xx

Oh, wow, she is a black beauty, haha, 'get it'??!! My friend called hers the 'black b*tch though cos she used to nip, well, bite just because she could: needless to say, I avoided her stable. Fingers crossed you get a good feel about her when you see her tomorrow, she's gorgeous x

Esty don't, if this mare is 'good in the head' easy to ride and keeps cool in traffic, buy her! Looks like a good fit .
Has this mare 'Friesian blood'? Just looking at her neck?

She's friesian cross Arab! She's just more expensive than what I have available to spend. They'll drop slightly as she's going to a forever home. But as she's the first thing I've been to see I really think I ought to see another?

You can see 100, same with houses, boyfriends, girlfriends, adopted children, cars etc. I tend to settle by the first if there is no really good reason not to do it. Just think other people buy a car for 40000, this mare is only 4 or whatever . I saw it! The Friesian blood, that is because my name is Friesian .

Go with your gut esty... You will "know" as soon as you are aboard.... Go for a few test drives..... Let it lie awhile....
I would drop for a forever home... I would be desperate for you to buy her.... Forever home is pure gold xx
Happy Pondering xxx

I'm really hating this bit. She's lovely but.... She's not fili I think is where I'm stuck at. I can't believe I'm having to look for a horse! But they're all unknowable and she seems a fairly safe but forward going unknowable. I'm not sure about age either. Should I go younger, she's 11 but realistically I'll be 63 when she's 21 which seems more sensible. Pluto has good points. There's no reason not to buy her. And a big plus I think I'd be very safe. Famous last words. Anything younger would be so much more unpredictable. Not that any are. My first response when I saw her was god she's gorgeous. She's not a person pony. Not that interested in people but that suits as when in hospital with bf she won't be pining just happy that someone else is doing her routine. Fili was like that. As long as she was with her mares she didn't need to see me for days. There are staff where she'd be kept. Oh decisions decisions decisions.

Also she's been 1 of 16 whereas she'd be 1:1 as in where she is have 16 (private owners!) whereas she'd just be the most important horse in our family :-) so she might end up being quite different in a good way.

Ask for a re- visit maybe......
Or a sneaky look over the field gate.....
Know what you mean about irreplaceable old friend... ....
She sounds fab.... You know in your heart.... Sleep on it a while.... Perfect test perhaps : - ... How would you feel if you lost out to another buyer??? Xxx

I'm going back Saturday with a friend who is an instructor and hopefully to hack out by myself.
That's one of the hardest things about living by yourself, having no one to discuss decisions with all day and night ;-)
The kids don't know about her yet. Well BF does as he's seen her but he's not telling ;-)

Second viewing/test ride should help Esty to see if she feels right.

Been back to see her again and took friend who's an instructor who rode and jumped her.
She thinks she has potential to be what I need/want/ would like :-D.
Going back Tuesday to hack out alone and as long as she doesn't tank off, goes happily by herself, passes a vetting then I'm doing it!!!!

Very different to Fili, but that's what I wanted. Needed to be placed where you wanted her. Didn't take off whilst galloping up bank but did explode at beginning with delight! Let me get off and back on again. Huge decision, I could be looking at this horse in 20 plus years time, all being well on both our parts! So bought subject to vetting :-D

She's getting vetted on Wednesday next week and if she passes that then she's mine. Vets all busy this week as there are a couple of major horse events on. So saving money for another week ;-). Wouldn't buy without vetting as Fili had so many medical ailments I didn't want to land myself with something that I couldn't do much on again.
