Big Fish is in hospital. I was just saying what a relaxing morning I was having to my visiting sister when I went to switch BF's feed pump off and found his tube had broken leaving a hole and a missing piece inside. Straight to A and E and he was very quickly under anaesthetic to put in new tube and try to find missing bit. New tube successful but piece still missing. Just hoping it comes out naturally. All made more complicated by it being LM's birthday BBQ today which my sister and niece went ahead with whilst I clock watched whilst big son under. Sister is bringing LM to hospital for 7am tomorrow so he can open his birthday presents with us before a friend takes him late to school. A good example of real support.

Really bad reception so uploading as and when. Big fish settled and relaxed. Just wOting for bit to pass through. Carer sitting with him so I can take LM out for bday meal with friends the friend staying with BF overnight. Will plan tomorrow when I know what's happening. LM came in at 7 to open presents and as suspected iPod touch a huge hit. Went off to school happily. I think he def gets it was out of our control so he's gone with the flow and I do have very familiar supportive friends and carers who bend over backwards to help. I'm very flexible their way too and this particlular friend has disabled twins so I do a lot of support back. BF drifting off in front of CBBies and I'm struggling to keep awake!

Oh no Esty, it never rains but it pours, the lift and now an op. Let's hope it comes through before then. If it's any consolation, I was just eating a chewy sweet, finished it, and phoned the dentist to book an appointment for YDD to have a dental check as I'd had to cancel previously as she wasn't well enough and while I was on there making the appointment and also thinking I really should have a check up myself, my tongue felt a rough edge on my back tooth that hadn't been there before I ate the sweet and I realised I'd swallowed a chunk of my tooth/filling!! As it is gone I don't know if it is tooth or filling that's missing, but I've definately lost something, so I ended up booking myself an appointment in the same phonecall - talk about co-incidence and timing!! So YDD is in there first thing monday and I'm in there the following day - Great that'll teach me to eat a chewy sweet and I wouldn't mind but it was a humbug. BAH!! At least hers is free but mine won't be.

Lift fixed. Still no piece and bowel surgeon doesn't reckon it will pass through so looking at operation tues or wed. Really worried about it as son has huge extensor spasms which mean he'll have to be sedated for a couple of weeks to allow wound to heal which means we'll have to be in for that time. Family lives 4 hours away so although they'll come up at weekends to have LM that leaves me with mon to thurs to find a sleeper overer for LM. This year has been carp!

We are back in. Came in yesterday with extended abdomen which rapidly became a very grey child with a temp. No one could find out what was wrong. Nothing showing on X-rays. Screamed and extended all night even with copious amounts of Valium. Now got scary looking rash but is at last quiet and resting. Sister on way up for lm

He hasn't slept but is more relaxed and even managed a smile this am. It's not meningitis!!! They're now thinking it's viral and nothin to do with tube or peg or piece. He's watching CBBIES which is a sure sign of progress. LM managing well with Aunty G. He thinks it's great that she's come up especially to stay with him. She lives 4 hours away.

Much calmer and sleeping today, that's both of us ;-) tolerating feeds and managing to watch tv when awake. Fingers crossed that we're home tomorrow. Consensus is likely to be viral with added complications of his spasms.

We are home! Both fishes in bed and a glass of wine poured. I am truly knackered and extremely relieved.
