Can any one recommend any good books to read with older children during the intros?

A great favourite here ( not exactly intros but such a great read iykwim) is " a blessing from above "... Must try to find it can't remember who it's by... But it is the story of a kangaroo desperate to be a mummy.... Really lovely story always brings a tear !!!
O.k. Just found it .... It is a ' little golden book ' by Patti Henderson illustrated by Liza Edge... Hope you like it...
If you can't find it let me know & I will track it down for the references.... I'm sure others will be along soon with their favourites... Hth

its an oldie, so you might have to track it down, but when squirrel came home a friend gave us a topsy and tim get a new brother (not sure if that is the exact title) its about adoption and is really good for explaining sw asking lots of qu, helping new baby settle in and learning to be good big sisters and brothers
we used a version that we had modified and turned into a snapfish book of their life story... squirrel was 16 months when she was placed and nearly 3 when george came home and it helped her process the idea that she lived with fc while sw looked for us, she was lved there and no she livesd with her forever...she didn't quite get the idea of bp...so we will explain that as it comes up
we did find that in the run up and during intros they didn't want everything to be about the new arriuval, they wanted a lot of familiar and reassurance that life was ordinary and that some things were just about them and the the things they liked and that not everything was about baby bro

No matter what - by Debi Gliori Stormy weather - by Debi Gliori Love is a handful of honey - can't remember offhand and I'll wake Hurricane up if I go to find it! Bear's golden hearts
Some of the Todd Par books Also some simple, short books by Emma Dodd that focus on love/acceptance - but may be too much for a LO initially
If you want just simple fun books to engage youngsters who may have little concentration span or reading ability then: Ketchup on your cornflakes Don't put your finger in the jelly Nelly
Will keep thinking - we have loads of lovely books!

I would be tempted to read something light hearted. Depending on ages and interests how about 'The a Disgusting Sandwich' (suitable for 3-4 year olds), 'Horrid Henry' (5-7 year olds). I think that Introductions are incredibly intense, and I think having something that will make a child snigger and say 'eugh!' (and snuggle up for more) would be rather lovely!
