I've just seen the advert where children talk about what they call their private parts. One little girl came out with "Todger" - I haven't heard that in years!!!!! She realises afterwards that its the wrong description for girl bits. Reminds me of when mine were little and I used to call breasts "muscles".

Yes it never ceases to surprise me all the different names kids have for their bits and pieces. Trouble is I have never found a nice word for girls private bits that doesn't sound either too grown up, or rude, unlike words for boys privates where there are loads of acceptable ones like todger. My girls used to call it their front bottom, for want of a better word. Think you could fill a whole dictionary with words that kids use for their bits.

My brother used to refer to his 'Winky' - brought a whole new meaning to the (already a bit suspect) rhyme - 'Wee Willy Winkie'

My brothers used to call it their "tassies". I have no idea where that came from and have never heard anyone else us that word before or since?

My mums face was a picture when we sat down to watch Tinkerbell. Apparently, growing up in Ireland lady parts were referred to as fairy Mary!!

And while we're on the subject, does anyone think the new kids programme name 'Zak and Quack' is a bit suspect? Lol

I'm Irish Sooz and I never heard of fairy mary, but it's got me giggling - hilarious. Not heard of Zak and Quack, but yeah, it does sound a bit suspect now you mention it. My ex is English and he used to go on about some program he used to watch - can't remember the name, as we didn't have it in Ireland, but the characters were Master Bates and Seaman Staines !!

We were reminiscing about kids tv recently and DH swore there was a character in captain pugwash called Roger the cabin boy,I think that's either an urban myth or just a smutty mind though

Captain pugwash had many characters with very suspect names.... Don't know how they got away with it tbh!!!
Talking of close to the mark.... I stopped watching blue peter when the new presenter started talking constantly with double' entendre'.... It really put me off.... I didn't totally get all that he was miss directing but it ruined the show for me.... Again such a high profile show was sorely let down in my view....
As for todgers.... We have willies here... Must be tuff thinking of a suitable girls version.... So glad I don't have to think of one.... Love the fairy Mary tho!!!

When I was little we called girls bits "Twinkies" and boys "Willies"
I am shocked about the names in Captain Pugwash and I think people said Rainbow was risque too.

Must admit that I loved watching CP with my children, and didn't notice the risqué names---but perhaps I was a young innocent Mum the. Shame that 27 years as a FC has made me cynical and 'worldly wise'

Jmk: 'I'm Irish Sooz' You might be Irish, I have lived there........... They call a penis a 'willy' (but call their child Willy as well if they like the name ) And do you know what parents say to naughty children? 'I'm going to kill you' I had never heard that before, but when I asked they assured me they would not really do so, in my ears it sounded horrible, and it was not just one isolated time I heard this. Homebird are you Irish too? lol And Moo, I reply first and than read replies By the way only in the ROI I heard the Willy thing, never in the UK!

There was a spoof clip of rainbow going around a few years ago, full of innuendo. I'm not sure the real rainbow was suspect. I'll have to check it out now lol. Yes Pluto, my mum would always say 'I'll kill you' . I never took it literally though, it was just a saying, but thinking about it now it would sound bad to someone else. And it's willy here in this house!

I think the captain pugwash stuff is an urban myth. Im pretty sure the cabin boy was called Jake. It makes a good story though! Little boys where we live tend to talk lots about their peanuts....

The cabin boy was called tom. The double entendres were an urban myth but a couple if newspapers were apparently sued for perpetuating them.
There was a willy though!!!
