My own mother was often asked if her children were adopted as we looked nothing like her. Now our AC looks nothing like me, but when people see me with my mother they often comment on how much they look alike and they can see where she gets her looks from!

We didn't plan for similarity, and it isn't something that would have mattered , but it so happens that ds1 and hubby get comments about them looking alike ( and he gets mistaken for hubby on the phone ) and ds2 is quite like me in colouring. It's quite nice feeling as a bonus for the boys and us. Indeed with ds2 he comes from an area that my parental ancestors came from so the similarity may be more than coincidental, you never know !!

Sqk is similar to DH in terms. Indeed MIL says he is very similar to him at same age other than hair being darker. They both have blue eyes and slim build. I have dark brown hair and brown eyes. Given BPs and birth-siblings colouring I expect Sqk to end up with hair of a similar colour to mine. I was dark blonde at a similar age after all.
Physical match was not that important to us. We live in a fairly ethnic diverse area although the bit we live in is predominantly white but is getting more mixed.
