Recently Stig has had autism added to his collection of labels. On Saturday he did something amazing (to me at least).
He was bombarding me with information about a TV programme he'd watched and I briefly ran my hands over my face. He spotted the gesture, stopped his monologue, said, "Am I too full on for you? I'll tone my voice down." AND he actually did tone his voice down.
I'm so thrilled.

Very radical. It gives you hope that sometime in the future, there will be a spoken phrase that will work just as well. He must have been feeling fairly settled to have noticed. Now you are going to have to watch and see what other emotions he notices, and whether he only gets extreme ones...
