We have matching panel this friday.
Very excited as we have been assured nothing will go wrong, but as i'm sure you can all imagine, those nerves creep in regardless dont they.
Can anyone advise on questions we may be asked.

Mine was really chilled (good job as they kept me hanging around for four hours!!!). They asked me what attracted me to this child in particular, how I felt about letterbox contact and what I thought the biggest challenge was going to be in parenting Starlet.
Good luck :-) xx

Be prepared for "why this child/these children" question, think about how you will answer that honestly and you'll be just fine.

Oh Daisy....thinking of you!! My nerves have started and I'm 2 months away, lol!!! Agree the question - why this child....im finding that such a hard one to answer with any depth!! You will be fine though hunny....you're as prepared as anyone can be, you've taken your time with this match.....just remember to keep breathing !!! Xx

Daisy, ours was last week. It was fab, despite the fact that I felt like a bag of nerves beforehand! We were asked 'why this child?', about how our birth son felt, about leave, and about contact arrangements- no problem!!! Good luck, be thinking of you.xx

Thanks everyone
The question why these children is easy for us everything about these children, but that is something we can put into words!
I suppose it's the what if something goes wrong despite sw's telling us it won't etc it doesn't stop you panicking! Lol
Tali yours will be here before you know it, and the longer the wait the more you will start to realised why those children!
Xxx

Good luck Daisy.
I was asked, 'When was the moment you committed to these boys and what was it that made that happen?' Slightly different version of the 'why these children' and I think it made it easier to answer actually.
I was also asked whether I'd bought them wellies for puddle jumping yet! (I had exactly the same panel as approval panel and despite it being over a year later, they remembered that I had answered 'What would you do with your prospective children on rainy days?' with 'Go puddle jumping!')
It felt much more relaxed than approval panel and people were so positive it was lovely. Looking back on it now, I think that maybe they just couldn't believe their luck in getting Hurricane and Tsunami off their hands!
I was worried about responding to the questions (have a stammer that gets worse under stress) so my social worker advised me to take the little photo I had of my boys with me and put it on the table in front of me. She reckoned that whenever I felt nervous I could just look down and see my two boys and even if I couldn't speak then everyone would see me smile and know I wanted them.

Oooooohhhhhh exciting ...... last weekend of 'freedom' but I bet you guys just don't see it that way - it's a weekend which is just "in the way". Try to make the most of it and I hope you can rest and switch off (even for a little bit) between now and the 30th - although that's not going to happen, is it? Bet the 30th can't come soon enough Knight x

Thanks everyone for the messages
I've had a pants day It started hung over It then proceeded with 12 hours at work as I have year end accounts file to submit by Monday 8am and work us coming out of my ears It finished with my mum being really upset following a fallout between her and her sister
BUT
Then the foster carer sent us a magic video with our sons singing Barney's I love you song to us! (Obv they didn't know they were singing it to us!) lol!
I'm working again tomorrow and got an extra busy week so I'm sure the next week will fly!
So who's up at mp next! Is it you tali?
I'm one happy mummy! Xxxxx

Oh Daisy, the hangover was no doubt expected - and well worth it I'm sure Very sad though and difficult re: family fall-outs so the unexpected vid of your LOs has clearly improved a rubbish day.....the week will fly by as you're so busy, just hope it's not too manic and you get a day or two to wind down before intros x

Congratulations Daisy! Sorry you've had a rubbish day..... BUT, you're a Mummy!!! How lovely to get the video of LOs singing. Bet the song is stuck in your head now! We found some video clips recently on the computer that our LOs FC had sent us before they came home, we must have watched them a million times waiting for LOs to come!
