.........received: I'm impressed with the way it's been written - I just couldn't bring it all together like that, especially in the new condensed version; and because I bang on about Daisy's coffee mornings to people at work and home, it inevitably came out in HS, so it's had several mentions!!!! (well done Daisy & Donald and all those who go).
I quite like the fact that SW has observed that I don't have rose-tinted's (how could I with reading these and the old boards on top of my own experience of all things adoption??!!). I know nothing can really prepare you for being a parent to a child who has been through so much but at least these boards give some insight and preparation (thanks guys).
It'll be great when I can move over to the approved board, wahey - only 4 weeks to go (fingers crossed)

Oh wow thanks for the update Knight. Only four weeks to go, so nearly there, how exciting!! Yes SW loooove when you have already made contact with real adopters, it proves to them that you already have a knowledgeable support network of people who will "get it" and will hopefully help you out if you need it as they will understand and are police checked already! Reading the boards means you are realistic and shouldn't be fazed by anything your child might present and if she does, you know where to come for advice/vent etc and that is sooooo important, especially for us singlies who don't have an OH at home to run things by late at night or whenever. Am soooo looking forward to reading your intro's as and when they happen - Not long now.

Ahh thanks guys....feel daunted at the prospect of Panel: 12 people reading that PAR and then quizzing me. Everyone has to go through it so I'm taking some comfort from that ~ obviously in a few weeks, I won't be quite so empathetic: I'll be carping it hehehe !!!!! x

The thought of panel is worse than the actual experience of it IMO. Remember by the time you get there, most of the work is done. Your SW wouldn't put you forward unless she thought everything was done and that you were ready for it. It is really just a rubber stamping exercise and you are 99% there already. It is rare for people to be turned down at panel and has to be something pretty exceptional for this to happen at all, so try not to worry. With your own personal family experience and knowledge from the boards, you'll sail through and then the fun begins - your search for your LO. And remember you have all your Aunties (and Uncles) on here to consult if you need to.

You'll be fine at panel - we all get nervous because it means so so much, but as jmk said the decision is already made! Panel just like to meet adopters.
Good luck :-) if necessary I can send Starlet to speak to them, she thought you'd make a great forever mummy!

Wahoo, now there's something to aim for Moo: front carriage....!!! I've already experienced a slight dip on that blummin' rollercoaster (enquired about a child, really felt I could parent her: but they'd already found a home for her, great for her of course, sad for me): but my little chick is out there waiting to find her mummy!!! Panel is so important to us, so no wonder we're anxious. It's the next part I'm really dreading: first Exchange Day is the afternoon of Panel with an Activity Day 2 days later: goodness knows why I talked myself into going - never wanted to be in a competitive match situation.....let's hope FF recognises that little un will benefit from a single mummy...oooohhhh..... nearly there !!! x
