Introducing left 5 blue, right 4 and pink , delight 13 and pink with a blue exterior. Do I start 22 years ago when I first started looking after teens I was very young but determined any young person I looked after would know they had the option to be in my life for ever...... How many complaints have I had through the years for giving to much to kids,to much time,money ,energy and the fight they are fosterd not yours not adopted  ?? YES majority have stayed in touch xxx adoption fosterd it's always held the same commitment for me. Do I start 3 years ago when our daughter adopted us and we ended up with a grandson "we really are to young" no legal papers but she is ours !!! Our will says so and my hubby walked our daughter down the isle she is ours. Do I start mabey 2 yrs ago when I took that call with the big PLEASE !!!!!! Just a few nights I know they are both a little young but PLEASE !!!!!! But I do over 13 years PLEASEeeeeeee we promise we will help. Do I start the day I realised splitting these "not all" but these siblings was wrong. Do I start the first time Ss said "no " to us adopting left right and delight SGO (that's her wish) or do I start the 10th time they said no to us adopting. After all they really don't want to lose teenage carers xx Do I start today " today was magic" we've been having left for ages 1 day a week for sibling contact we have known him for 2 years, today was our day the first day after the "yes" I sat, stood and listend to all 3 today, Did it feel different today because I know and the children don't . I have this magic wonderful secret that I cannot share just yet. Was it harder saying goodbye tonight when left returned to FC. Did right hug me tighter going to bed. Delight has been through a lot, a huge amount she has been waiting to hear about left and rights "forever family" that would mean she said goodbye. I cannot wait to tell her the forever family is us xxxx So this introduction diary will be a little strange I will cover reactions of children I expect left to arrive in about four weeks xxxx |

Oh happyone this is such a joy....
I just knew this would be totally brill & the tissue fest that it is sooo wonderful....
How terrifically hard for you to still not be able to share with delight.... Your joy is encompassing & passionate... What a true gem you are a national treasure... Left & right will be in orbit soon how amazing ( you keep setting me off) the back story is a tissue fest in its own right.. 
Please keep posting this is liquid magic & a must read for all... I vote for it to become a 'sticky'
Thanx for liking my idea of an intro diary.... Bestest idea I have had in long while!!
Can't wait for your report from the day you were able to share your phnemoninal news...  ( there's not am emotion Big enough!!)

THANKYOU so much all of you xxx your feedback is so appreciated . Trust me I am far from perfect or treasure like infact I'm rather gobby and feisty ... I will be keeping this as a record for the children in the future so I really need to say it was NOT just me the whole family was with me including grandparents and my fab hubby who had never even heard of looked after children till he met me at age 16 he is my rock. Each and everyone of them is up for this ......

Tall child and partner both blue 21
Sid pink 21 born the same day as tall child
Man child 20 blue
Sunshine pink 19 and partner 20 sunshine was pushed out haha
Brave strong pink 18 ish married with my grandchild 1.5 blue chicken thigh his mum adopted us
Freckle frog blue 16 also pushed out
Prinny pink 17 19 days between her and frog so my twins
Delight 13 pink
Angel 13 pink
Right 3 pink
And soon to be left
Cannot forget
Mini mama 30 and hubby who now foster and have four
Yes it's mad xxxx

Tokoloshe what a fab story and two very lucky girls and cousins by the sounds of it xxx I really don't mean to disrespect legal adoption and I admire immensely lots of bubs and co who do that fantastic job of moving children onto ff the emotion and strength these families have takes my breath away I have learnt so much from induction diarys. The passion and fight to get it right is life changing for everyone the best peice of writing I ever read was on the old auk boards about how a child feels on moving to a new home !!!!!!!!! I was never a little ones Fc even as a Sw I worked with teens so I have no experience after 22 years of moving children on to adoption Well apart from my siblings when I was younger  I have moved lots on to independence university or back to parents but the age range I normally have is 13 and above I am normally the last stop so naturally my commitment is to stay intouch. As my hubby says I'm a natural collector. I also have had so many fights over the years re my approach and been accused of creating dependency my answer was and always will be kiss my bum hahaha however I remember when I got married I felt different yes that price of paper ment a lot so I'm now questioning will the adoption certificate make me feel different ?? What I have noticed from the boards is huge effort goes into intros and day to day with children not a huge amount is mentioned about the court date !!! So I'm thinking the love commitment starts way before the paper but only time will tell xxxx but I am open to listen to others thoughts and feelings x |

Yep I aggree happyone the 'piece of paper' was nowhere near as important as I thought it would be!! It was a real anticlimax in all honesty!!
Matching panel & intros now those were lifechanging experiences....
I put my all into intros & it paid dividends we all have such amazing memories.... & my two really were tiny at the time.....
But they remember bits so very well & deffo grasped that life was just begining & really was gonna be happy now...
I remember from prep group being told how the one advantage to putting in for the order quickly was that it gave the b.f. Less time to get their act together... Thus preventing them less chance to gain courts permission to apply to turn over the placement & a.o.!! That was my only anxiety about the papers!!!

Hope ss in S Africa approve of underage decorating!!.

Great story. I'd love to be a fly in the wall when you tell the children!!!  I'm another one who thinks the relationship is more important than the piece of paper, although maybe the paper means more to the children. I'm going to be a foster granny in 3 months and very excited!!! |

for me, going from fc to adopter, the piece of paper was important becoz it marked the proper end of ss involvement, and I know normal adopters have this feeling too, but when you've had a child come to you as a foster child and you then have to change that mind set, the piece of paper was important. he was 'mine' really from the moment I laid eyes on him even tho I was prepping him for adoption overseas at the time, then that fell thro so I could actually lay claim to that feeling that he was really mine and that happened before the piece of paper, but the final AO, that was important back then. but once it was got I have rarely given it a second thought since, becoz he was always 'mine'.

What a flipping few days !!!!!!!! Well the big "professionals " meeting happend. 10 days before a family showed an interest in left and right. Dear me my blood pressure. But I stayed calm and put my trust in the big fellow in the sky. So we got into a competitive match situation...... At this late stage I cannot say I was not heartbroken I was !!!!!!! :.( However in the future I can tell my babies we was not the last choice or second best, they was very much wanted by us and others and we was FIRST choice xxxxxxx Delight was told Friday by SW I would never have got the words out . Her reaction was a long deep emotional sob yes sob I will never have the words to describe the hug she gave me. The sigh said it all as did the THANKYOU xx my beautiful brave girl xx she has had the weekend to process the information which to be honest she's needed xxx and yes today she told both left and right to " Get out her room" I loved it such a normal big teenage sister reaction. So yes life is good xxxx Last night I remember having 3 smallish vodkas note the words " I remember" my goodness the hangover was hellish !!!! Me and mr have found today's visit from mr left hard going hahaha xxx We went and bought some stick arounds for his room. Iv been quite strict with my football obsessed boys reminding them all little left may not like football but no little left choose the popular family football teams stickers so a trip to the Aladins cave in the loft has ensured he has an amazing football room xxx spent all afternoon arranging said stickers and laundering bedding, curtains etc I thought I'd sleep like a baby tonight but "NO" iv just climbed into bed having made up bed curtains etc and painted yes painted various marks out "DAM" finger prints. Tomorrow I'll decide if we are having a feature red wall or not....... So no doubt it's back to Saturday morning youth football for me I need to find my thermals !!!!!! Dam this nesting instinct hahaha. On Monday a further burst of phone calls with the profs should get us a "moving in schedual" I'm warned it will be quick !!!! |

Aww happyone my heart actually missed a beat reading your update post.... When I continued reading I discovered I was holding my breath!! You scared the sh*t out of me! 
So thrilled with the outcome.... Lovin' delights reaction..... Sooo wish I could have been a fly on the wall
Fantastic to be able to share in future that there was a dash to be the lucky forever mummy & daddy!!! Joy for left right & delight... Great for their feelings of belonging & inner confidence ....

Ha ha, Moo ~ I had the exact same reaction. Happyone: you have been through it, a possible competitive match at that late stage (but sadly, it's not the first time I've heard that) but yay, what a huge relief. Poor Delight, she must have been so worried in the background, great news x

Ooooh you naughty one, you scared me too. I thought something had happened - Whew!!
Hope you are keeping a record of this diary, I'm sure all 3 will love reading this and reading your excitement at their impending arrival home.
An elderly Aunt of mine gave me a letter before she died, that my mum had written to her shortly after I came home to live with my family. My mum was describing how I looked and how excited she and my Dad were to have me and I have to say I found it very moving and sooo special to read. I still have that letter now and I treasure it to this day.

Yes !!!!!!!!! you all got a fright my foundations certainly rocked xxxx
Today Delight is prepping which involves "bright red paint"
She told me it feels proper like being with Mum as they will be together.
Part of this story involves a 4th child who lives with his dad now. So we have become a very involved special Aunty and Uncle, I am proud off this ones Dad and the effort he is making to ensure these children stay in touch .
Me I'm cleaning struggling to sit still only 12 for lunch so Mr Happy One is busy xxx I have enterd a parrel universe x
