Ordered a fitbit Flex which arrived yesterday. Mixed reviews but I decided to try it anyway.
Also have formed the intention to have a swim while DD has her one to one lesson tomorrow. That may not sound like much but although I can swim I rarely do.Too much trouble and very self conscious. Tried on my swimshorts and tankini top to see is they still fit, which amazingly they do. What I'd really like is a Nigella style swimburka :-) I would have been happy as a Victorian with the stripy bathing suit and bathing machine :-)

Well I am going to ask DH to help me with the setting up of the Fitbit on the computer and then we'll see how it goes. I don't have a smart phone and not technical at all but I will give it a go. I like the vibrating alarm function. I sleep through most alarms, including DH bringin me a cuppa... it usually goes cold. Erm, I didn't have a swim BUT I did go for a walk while DD had her lesson, with teacher's permission (DD is 15 so no problem) So a walk while Violet swims on Fridays and maybe a swim while Dash swims on Mondays. I have to do SOMETHING!! :-)
I discovered they do coloured swim burkas.....quite pretty!

I went for a 9 mile bike ride this week (yup, can't walk much but cycling ok!)
And I'm out tonight! A really late one...won't get home until after 3....shame I'm driving but worth it....soul night, I can't wait.
I may be having an early night on Saturday lol

We saw some swim burkas in Marrakech. They looked incredibly uncomfortable and if you are anything bigger than a size 10, incredibly unflattering. Think wetsuit with a skirt. Not nice
but what are you up to, out until after 3?

I texted my daughter (who was out with friends) & asked her to bring me back some Pringles. This is the first time I have asked her to bring me back something and she's actually remembered! Plan on watching Paddington tonight whilst eating them (with a quick look at Match of the Day as my team moved out of the relegation zone today as well - double result!)! Hope you all enjoy your Saturday nights!

Ohh I often have that for tea!
As Simba is off gallivanting I nicked his personal training session, feeling very virtuous and a tad energised

No one has done anything for themselves for nearly a month??? Surely not! Just too busy having fun to post about it? Anyway having mislaid the fitbit for a while (put it in a safe place so Dash wouldn't find it and lose some essential part) finally set it up on Sunday night. Mostly by myself. Honestly if I can do it anyone can. So....found out that 10000 steps isn't that difficult to do. And interesting to log sleep.....exactly 7 hours and 4 minutes sleep 2 night running. Another morning after only 5 hours sleep :oI switched sleep mode off and went back to sleep so that wasn't helpful. Basically I know I don't get enough sleep but having it all logged on computer might help. DH is thinking of getting one and I want DD to have one.

Just came first in our first ever show cross (show jumping and cross country). Never expected to complete the course so to go clear twice and to get placed unbelievable! Go horse go! BF and LM and LM's friend Shrimp out to beach with carers. They had a fab day too though all pushing their luck on occasions but actually very good that they see both male carers as safe enough to push their luck!!!

Lay on a beanbag with headphones on, turned the music up and really listened to two songs (Deep Purple and Dire Straits if you're interested). It was brilliant!

Long walk with the dog and a friend, then later I watched Heather Watson play at Wimbledone and finally MrBop and I got to go dancing...
We needed a day like that - today we go away on holiday and the anxieties have already started!

Booked a Spa day with a friend, while kids in holiday club, for towards the end of August. Will definitely need it by then! Also met a friend for a picnic lunch on friday. Very civilised, gorgeous sunshine, beautiful surroundings, and no children!

Have done a few things for myself/ourselves lately.
Last week DH and I went up to London to see 'The Audience' starring Kristin Scott Thomas......brilliant. We were fortunate to get tickets as it ends this week. It was a spur of the moment thing
Then last Saturday we went to a wedding......just the two of us. It was a wonderful day and we had known the groom since he was born. A very special occasion
Then on Tuesday it was our older birth daughter's graduation. Another very special occasion. If Gilreth is reading she might be interested to know DD graduated with a first in pharmacy. Decided she wanted to be a pharmacist aged 13 and never wavered from that.
On a more mundane level.....I had a different new dress for each occasion (wedding and graduation not theatre!) and had my nails done which is a rare occurrence!!
No fun for ages and then 3 things come along at once

Congratulations to your daughter larst - sounds like my DH who decided pharmacy was what he wanted and went for it. Hope she has secured a good pre-reg placement.

Have just noticed no one has posted about doing anything nice for themselves for over 3 months now!!!
Come on, we need some encouragement.

Well jmk since you asked
DH and I went to a concert with dinner afterwards at a stately home. It was a few weeks ago though!
Need to plan our next big night out (we decided we need to do something special every 3 months) A local night out doesn't count (although we don't do that much either) A special nightout would be a trip to the theatre or something major like that.

In a similar vein ate the whole packet of the childrens' Mikado (not the opera) but chocolate sticks. They are delicious! I felt I deserved them....... the children obviously must never know!!

My favourite singer-songwriter in the whole world ever is in town tonight. I have booked a babysitter -- something I never do since DD went to boarding school.
