Prompted by the New Years Resolutions thread I am starting this one, (like we had on the old boards), for members to post when they have done something for them self. To remind all adopters that we too deserve a treat now and again for all the carp we have to put up with.
This is a "GUILT FREE" thread where we can all share and celebrate together - God knows we deserve to.
And maybe seeing other adopters doing things, may encourage the rest of us to do something nice for ourselves, instead of always putting our children first.
Looking forward to reading your posts.

My children are older now 12, 9 and 8 so getting them out of bed in the mornings has become harder! So this morning I woke them, provided breakfast and left them in beds while I showered, had coffee, sorted washing etc! Peace and quiet. And Disney Infinity has been a fantastic investment!!

Booked myself onto the dress making class I have been hankering after for a couple of years (start on tuesday) and bought myself some lovely roses (sideboard looks empty now all that christmas tat has been put away) Forgot to say all dress making will be about me, until I have a whole new wardrobe no one else will be getting a look in, also half way through knitting the very first thing I have ever made for myself - been knitting for 35 years and have never made myself anything. I will be getting right into the spirit of this thread

Gave away a build your own gingerbread village kit to a friend's family who had an inset day. Went to see it after work, and it was brilliant, a proper layout with added signposts and a double decker bus to take people to Santa's Grotto.

I went to a Japanese evening tonight organised by a friend of mine who used to live there. We made sushi and learned how to write our names in Japanese - really good fun and lovely to get into a different head space.

Out to see Long Walk To Freedom then Indian meal followed by night in friend's mother's flat that overlooks the mouth of the Tyne. I stood on her balcony early this morning waving in the Amsterdam ferry. Bliss!

Treated myself to a new dress today in Tesco's sale reduced from £35 to £15 - Bargain! Only problem was I hadn't realised it had a magic lining built into it (one of those stretchy lycra ones that pulls you in and smooths your lumpy bits out) quite effective actually, but when I went to take it off, it kind of strangled me round the neck and shoulders trapping my arms, (a bit like when you are taking off a wetsuit). I almost had to press the help button to get an assistant to come and help me out of it, but thankfully after having a rest and counting down 1,2,3 uuuurrrggghh I did manage to extricate myself from the said garment, whilst laughing away to myself at the absurbity of the situation. Thank goodness no one saw me.

What did I do for myself today? One hour of gym before breakfast - thanks to DH, who looks after the kids twice a week before starting work. Sounds a strange thing to count under this category, but it gives me an energy boost ( much needed, given DS's sleep habits), and sets me up for the day!

No Oyster, haven't got the energy to get in to it, let alone the energy to get out of it, even with help.
